Aston Villa have been revealed to have just hours before they face a 10-point deduction for the 2024-25 season, with Douglas Luiz set to join Juventus just in time to save themselves.

Even as they celebrate Champions League football in May, Villa officials know they are in a race against time to bring the club into compliance with Premier League financial rules by June 30.

They agree to sell Luiz to Juventus in May but has little time left once the deal done. Rather than pay the full price, Juve were keen to include two young players in the deal in exchange, which eventually ended up being Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenacia.
