Egyptian side Pyramids FC beat South African rivals Mamelodi Sundowns 3-2 on aggregate in the final to claim their first African Champions League title.

The Pyramids drew 1-1 last week and in the second leg on Sunday, top scorer Fiton Majele took the lead in the 23rd minute before

Ahmed Sami headed home past Ronwen Williams to make it 2-0. In the 56th minute, Sundowns pulled one back in the final but it was not enough.

The South African side almost had a leveller on the stroke of half-time, เว็บพนันออนไลน์ UFABET สมัครง่าย โปรโมชั่นมากมาย but Ahmed El Shenawy made a superb save to deny Tashreeq Matthews.

Pyramids, however, would double their advantage early in the second half, Ahmed Sami heading home Mohamed Chibi’s inviting free-kick.

Sundowns battled hard as they hunted a way back into the game, and halved the deficit on 76 minutes through Iqraam Rayners’ volley. They proceeded to apply consistent pressure, but Pyramids held on to see out the victory and clinch a maiden continental crown.

If Sundowns had equalised, they would have won the title on away goals but Pyramids, coached by Croatian Krunoslav Jerczyk, held on until the end of the 10th minute of stoppage time. Sundowns

missed out on a second title and went into the trophy cabinet while Pyramids entered the competition as runners-up to Egypt, unlocking the continent’s biggest trophy. Since the team was founded in 2008,

the Pyramids are also the third team, following Asian champions Al Ahly and European champions Paris Saint-Germain, to secure a place at the 2029 Club World Cup.
